Logic Pretest


The best introduction to logic is to DO some logic. So I'll now give you ten logic problems; most people get a lot of them wrong. This is an interactive version of a written logic pretest that I give my intro logic students on the first day.

Each problem gives you premises (information) and asks which conclusion follows logically. Don't worry about whether the premises are true; instead, ask yourself, "If these premises WERE true, then what else would HAVE to be true?" Here's an example:
